Stump removal will be performed using a stump grinder, typically to a depth of 4–6 inches below grade. Unless otherwise requested, woodchips will be backfilled into the cavity. Upon request, the area can be cleaned out and/or leveled with the surrounding ground for an additional fee.

Blue Sage Grounds Co will take reasonable precautions to avoid damage to underground utilities during stump grinding, but we are not liable for damage to unmarked or undisclosed lines or systems.

Alterations

Any changes to the scope of work performed by Blue Sage Grounds Co that result in an increase in the contract price must be reviewed by the original estimator.

Customer Responsibilities

The client confirms that all trees and vegetation scheduled for work are either owned by them or that they have obtained proper authorization from the legal property owner. The client is responsible for compensating Blue Sage Grounds Co for any damages or claims made by a third party who proves actual ownership of the trees or vegetation on which work was performed. If access to a neighboring property is required to complete the work, it is the client’s responsibility to obtain permission from the neighbor prior to the start of service.

Personal Property

The customer is responsible for removing all personal property from the worksite prior to the scheduled service date. If items are not removed or assistance is requested, Blue Sage Grounds Co will make reasonable efforts to move or protect them. However, we are not liable for any damage that may occur as a result.

Property & Site Conditions

Blue Sage Grounds Co is not responsible for lawn or turf damage caused by work performed while the ground is wet, damp, or otherwise vulnerable to disturbance.

We are not liable for damage to irrigation systems, drain lines, invisible fences, cables, or any other underground utilities that have not been clearly marked or disclosed to us before or during the estimate process.

While every effort is made to avoid damage, Blue Sage Grounds Co is not responsible for cracks, stains, or structural damage to driveways or sidewalks resulting from the use of vehicles or equipment necessary to complete the work.

Payment Terms

Payment is due in full upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing. Blue Sage Grounds Co accepts cash, checks, and major credit cards. A 5% late fee will be applied to any outstanding balance not paid within one week of the service date. A deposit may be required for certain services, which will be communicated during the estimate process.

Working with Living Things

Trees and plants are living organisms subject to many environmental and biological factors beyond our control. As such, Blue Sage Grounds Co does not guarantee the future health, safety, or condition of any tree or plant unless expressly stated in writing.

Our inspections do not include internal or structural evaluations unless noted and do not constitute a formal Tree Risk Assessment. If necessary, we may recommend a Tree Risk Assessment for an additional fee.

All trees pose some level of inherent risk and may eventually fail. By choosing to preserve a tree, the client accepts this risk. Blue Sage Grounds Co is not responsible for any accidents, damage, or injury that occurs prior to the scheduled service date.

Plant Material Deposits

A nonrefundable deposit is required for all plant materials at the time of order. This deposit secures the material and covers procurement costs. Once the order is placed, the deposit cannot be refunded—even if the project is delayed, changed, or canceled.

We do not offer guarantees or replacements for plant material that fails after installation. Tree and plant survival depends on many factors outside our control, including site conditions, weather, and ongoing care by the property owner.

Cancellation

The customer has 48 hours to cancel a scheduled job without penalty. Cancellations made after this period are subject to a cancellation fee. All deposits are non-refundable.
